Need a hearty start to a late October morning? Come to the next Core Team gathering!
October 24, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
University of Minnesota Extension — Grand Rapids office — Parking is available behind the offices.
Itasca Networks for Youth (INY) will share how area afterschool providers design programs to build strong relationships between area youth and supportive adults. We’ll discover together ways we can break down barriers that keep our young people from participating.
The presentation builds on the conversation from the Core Team’s meeting in May. Core Team members looked at new analysis commissioned from the Search Institute that focuses on the roles adults beyond the family play in helping young people learn, grow, and thrive.
We learned that these relationships matter. And that most Itasca Area youth lack strong relationships with adults beyond their family.
Afterschool programs are powerful places for young people to connect with adults in supportive relationships. But these places are most supportive when program providers take intentional steps to plan for them – as INY providers do.
We hope you will join us! Invite others you think would enjoy the conversation.
Breakfast will be provided.
