Student Success starts early in the life of a child. Please help spread the word about this great opportunity in the Remer, Longville, Outing and Federal Dam area…
Independent School District #118 is pleased to announce that it is once again offering Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) classes to residents of the Remer, Longville, Outing, and Federal Dam area. Through collaboration with Northland Community Schools ISD #118 and Grand Rapids School District #318, an 8 week series of evening classes will be available to families with children ages birth to 5 years old. On Monday evenings beginning Feb. 25 from 4:30 to 6 p.m., ECFE classes will be offered in the pre-school room at Remer Elementary. The first night is a kick-off celebration with a focus on early childhood hands-on science activities. Families are welcome and encouraged to attend. At this first class parents will meet the staff and learn more about how ECFE can support parents in parenting roles and support the development of children.
Remer Early Childhood Educator Suzanne Wilson and paraprofessional Faye Zorman will be teaching these classes along with Parent Educators, Lisa Fox and Kathy Carroll from Grand Rapids.
Following this kick-off celebration, classes will be offered for 7 weeks on Monday evenings. Class dates including the kick-off celebration include: Feb. 25, March 4, 11 18 and 25, April 8, 15, 22. These classes include a parent/child interaction time as well as a separate parent education time for parents to talk with other parents and share ideas. There is no cost for this program.
