IAISS hosted a breakout session at the Strive Network national convening this week. IAISS members, Judy Lundquist, Nick Pretasky, Isaac Meyer, Jaci David, and Terri Sullivan presented: An emerging model for broad based community engagement — lessons from Rural Minnesota.
Session leaders led attendees through a discussion of our learning from the data pilot last spring to our current approach to community engagement in preparation for the Fall data roll-out.
Our three “big ideas” from the model presented were:
- Youth as equal partners in the work
- Alignment emerges from the grass roots
- Governance is accountable to the community, not holding the community accountable.
