Congratulations to Matt Grose! We are blessed to have Matt working for kids in the Itasca area, and as a long-standing member of the Student Success Core Team.
The Minnesota Association of School Administrators (MASA) has named Matthew Grose, superintendent for the Deer River Independent School District, an Administrator of Excellence. Grose will be honored for his leadership, concern for students, and active involvement in professional and community affairs at a statewide recognition ceremony to be held at the MASA/MASE Spring Conference, March 14-15, in Brooklyn Park.
Grose’s achievements reflect his ability to lead important changes in the educational system. He has served as the superintendent of the Deer River Independent School District since 2006, working to provide the best possible educational programs for students. By combining grants with individual district commitments, area districts have installed Telepresence distance video equipment in over 20 locations throughout the Itasca area. As a result, 17 courses are being shared across the district. Grose also established a comprehensive collaborative after-school program that combines 4-H, the Boys and Girls Club, Targeted Services, and Indian Education to provide academic, social, cultural, and arts activities for children.
Grose is an active member in MASA, serving on the strategic planning committee. He sits on the board of directors for Ready4K, the Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation, the Leech Lake Area Boys and Girls Club, and the Itasca Area Community Foundation.
Grose holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics education from Northwestern College and a master’s degree in education from St. Mary’s University.
