SPARK’s partners know that young people are more likely to succeed when they have meaningful relationships with adults who support them.
Promise Fellow, Kayla Schubert does that by building relationships with young people at Greenway High School.
“My goal for the year is to create meaningful relationships with the students and to help them develop the self-confidence to believe that they are capable of achieving whatever they put their mind to,” said Schubert. “I want them to know that there is another adult around who wants to hear what’s going on in their lives and to be a listening ear.”
Kayla’s position as a Promise Fellow is a collaboration between Minnesota Youth Alliance, Greenway Schools and the United Way of 1000 Lakes.
The United Way has written more about this partnership on their website.
This partnership is just one of the many ways community partners are working together to achieve more than we thought was possible.
